DAY 32 : August 7/22 Sunday. Stratford, ON to Niagara Falls, ON

The road sure got bigger in a hurry!

We have reached Niagara Falls, Ontario!

Our campsite at the Lundy's Lane KOA.

First stop, hit the pool at the KOA to cool down.

Ollie and I took our ping pong paddles to test out the tables they had available. The wind proved to be challenging so we kept the game short! That's our rig you see in the background. They had a neat playground space with two inflated bouncy trampolines, playground, craft centre, wagon rides (which we missed unfortunately) and huge hammocks to hang out in.

Got an Uber into the centre of the hub-bub on Clifton Hill and took in all the sights to behold. Like a miniature Las Vegas with all the lights and attention grabbing colours and sights. Kids decided they wanted to go into one of the Haunted Houses on the strip. We ended up in this one (one I went in with my friend Jeff soooo many years ago on our cross-Canada rail trip).

Intruigued by the target shooting game on the Midway.

Walked down to view the Falls.

Family photo by the Falls taken by a boisterous family in exchange for taking their family photo for them.

Back up Clifton Hill to explore the sights, pop into gift shops, and have a look at the Dinosaur Golf. So many attractions to check out. The Dino Golf looked pretty neat with life-size dinosaurs and a huge volcano with water falls running down it. You could feel the blast of heat when the pyrotechnics went off and set fire to the top of the volcano every few minutes.

Ripley's Believe It Or Not Odditorium! This was a neat interactive space, and Oliver recognized lots of the things from the Ripley's books he'd been reading from the library.

These guys cracked me up at the Ripley's museum.

Kids in the "eye of a needle" comparing themselves to the teensy miniscule sculptures they saw in real needles at the Odditorium.

Megladon jaws!

The vortex at Ripley's was very trippy!

The falls lit up at night. We had wandered down to see the lights and then get an Uber back to the campground. We ended up catching the fireworks display perfectly!

10pm fireworks. Lousy photos, but awesome fireworks!

From here we ordered an Uber, which was a bit stressful because Jonathan's phone had 1% battery and the charger he was plugged into didn't seem to be working. We called the car and tried to see where the pick up spot would be and then his phone died! We walked to where we thought it was going to park, and then suddenly the phone lit up again and a call came through from Benson, the driver! We connected just in time to get a ride back home. (Also, a skunk ran across the road on the way back and stopped in the middle of the street. Benson stopped in time, but the skunk looked like it wanted to fight him!).
