Today we did schoolwork in the morning again. On a roll, hahahahaha. Jsy make a yummy breakfast. I did some laundry, and the kiddos worked on putting the candy wrapper collage on their paper maché bowls they started yesterday.
Meems and I went out to the rig to tidy it up and we had a grackle (like a black bird) come visit us and try to steal the back of nacho chips that we had put by the stairs. He was very noisy and insistent. Hopped right up into the steps of the RV! We got Ollie and daddy to come check it out and they wanted to film it, but the grackle was very wary of the new people and suspicious set up of the camera.
Ollie and I had a nice walk on the beach to separate him from Amelia. They were getting under each other's skin today! Then it was decided that since it was a no-wind day (no kiting), we'd get the boogie boards out and go for a play in the waves. The water was surprisingly warm. Ollie and daddy and Uncle Mike had wet suits on, but meems and I (not owning wetsuits) just had out swim suits and rashguards on and it was no problem being in the water. We had a great boogie boarding session (the Airbnb had boards we could use, plus our new one from Walmart we'd purchased weeks ago). Super fun in the waves.
Meems created a lovely sand sculpture of a grackle before we went back into the house for showers and snacks and more TV time.
That evening, Uncle Mike treated us to a round of Mini Golf (and ice cream!). The course was fun and perhaps not perfectly constructed, and loads of biting bugs, but was had a great time and didn't keep score in a traditional way.
Then it was Thai food at a little place up the road called Nom's Kitchen. We were the only customers and it was quite late. The food was great, setting was perfect for us to chill and chat. Kids were super tired from the busy day and beach time.
