We’re really doing it! Cue Danger Zone soundtrack… Left Tsawwassen not too long after 10:15am, which seemed slow and yet also quite impressive for us! Slow go getting out of the city as per usual and we hit up LaPaz gas station in Abbotsford for diesel at a reasonable $2.139/L
With a full tank of (unleaded) 🎶 diesel, we took the #3 past Hope and hit some rain. Carried on to Manning Park for a lunch break around 2ish and interactive wildlife experience. Ollie was a ground squirrel whisperer and made friends with “Squeaker” (named by Amelia). Cool big ravens stealing people’s cookies and anything that the motorists left for the squirrels. We hung out and played on and parkoured the playground for about an hour.
The next leg of the drive went quietly as the kiddos drew detailed pictures of the ground squirrels (Oliver) and a reindeer (Amelia) in their sketchbooks.
We made it to Bromley Rock around 4:15 and hung out by the water for half an hour.
* might split this into two posts as I seem to be limited on how many pictures I can post and am currently working off my phone. I’ll get the hang of this (right?)
My mini coke had fallen out of the fridge and when I opened it, it fizzed and left these perfect little surprised eyes! 😮
Oliver and Squeaker… this little guy kept whistling at Oliver and hanging out. I think he wanted food.
Raven thief at Manning.
Bromley Rock : water was very high and fast. We would usually stop and swim/float here on hot travel days to the Kootenays. No swimming today! Just some sand throwing and a bit of risky football (don’t throw it in the river!!!)
Amelia and I found some pineapple weed to make “camomile” tea!
Hit some serious fat rain through Hedley!
