Angel asking for more pets
Set our alarms for 8am so we'd be able to roll out shortly after 9am. Didn't really need to because... Roosters! 😂 Pretty awesome, even if some of those boys started before it really got light out, haha. Jonathan and I got up to get going on breakfast and clean up so we could get moving. Jonathan cooked up farm fresh eggs with black beans for us on our outdoor grill surrounded by some of the loose chickens and a rooster who were VERY nosy. King and Angel also moseyed on over to say good morning and kept the kids entertained with polite demands for scritches and attention. Once almost packed up, the kids searched the hay bales for Jonathan's reading glasses which went missing last night... he had them in his pocket and were no where to be found late last night. With no luck, Jonathan walked with them to search down the farm road towards the house and ended up finding them near the bunny hutch. Angel had followed them down there and demonstrated her innate guardianship for the farm animals by nuzzling the bunnies and also putting Luna (Jennifers's 11mo collie-x) in her place when she tried to get too close to the chickens.
9:20am and 103351km on the odometer… we set off south for Silverwood Theme Park near Athol. Arrived at about 10:30am and only had to wait a few minutes to find out our site #21 was ready to park in. Perfectly positioned by the grassy volleyball courts and shower block and playground and a short walk over to the theme park tunnel entrance, we were happy for the space (and water/electricity/sani on site).
We didn't get over to the park until after 11am and the line up was a little muddled. We ended up getting in the amusement park at the Coaster Alley entrance after quite some time. We enjoyed lots of rides... Log Flume ride and got sprayed by the bystanders. Meems and I went off to find the Parachute ride while Ollie and Jonathan did the ferris wheel. Around 4ish, we went into the Theatre of Illusion for pizza, and realized that the place was filling up soon after for the 5pm Phantasm illusionist show. We decided to stay and check it out. It was great! we were very impressed... After the kids bought themselves some Dippin' Dots icecream, we headed back to the rig for a short rest around 6:30pm thinking we might head back again and do another hour or two before the 9pm closing. I think the pizza did us in, all that gooey cheese and sodium and Jonathan and Ollie were not feeling their best, so we hung out at the rig and tucked into bed later.
FrogHopper was pretty fun!
Right at the start of the Roaring Creek Log Flume
